Dental Bonding

Dental Bonding is a restorative process in which a tooth-colored quartz filled resin is bonded to a tooth and cured or hardened with a high-intensity LED light. Bonding is a fantastic choice for making small cosmetic improvements to your teeth.

Bonding can be done with one trip to our Noblesville office since nothing has to be custom made by a dental laboratory. Additionally, the procedure allows your dentist to be conservative in the size of the cavity preparation.

How it's done:
The bonding procedure typically requires between 30 to 60 minutes to complete for each tooth. First, Dr. Derrick A. Johnston determines exactly what color shade your teeth are to select a resin that will blend it naturally. Once this is done, the tooth is prepared so the bonding material will adhere easier. This involves roughening the surface of the affected tooth and applying a liquid conditioner. Once this is complete, a resin is applied to the tooth and cured in place with an ultraviolet light. Finally, the finishing touches are applied by shaping and polishing the resin for a good fit.
